In a major breakthrough, under the guidance and directions of Sh. Ketan Bansal, IPS, SP crime and under the supervision of UdayPal Singh, DSP Crime the team of Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF), Chandigarh Police, led by Insp. Satvinder succeeded in breaking the chain of drug peddler by arresting the tricity based drug peddler namely Rakesh Kumar @ Rakku and main supplier Shanta Kumar from Karsog (Shimla) and the main dealer Sham from Kullu (Himachal).
On 30.5.2023 accused Rakesh Kumar @ Rakku was arrested and 854 Grams Charas and one desi katta alongwith live cartridge was recovered from his possession, while police party was on Naka duty stopped his White Color Swift Car No. TO523CH 8637A on the road towards small chowk sec- 1/2/3 to 82 battalion, Sec-1, Chandigarh. Consequently, case FIR No. Case FIR No. 46 Dt. 30.05.2023 U/S 20 NDPS ACT, 25-54-59 Arms Act, PS-3, UT Chandigarh was registered against him.
He was produced in the court and 5 days police remand was obtained. In his disclosure he disclosed that he purchased the drug from one Shanta Kumar resident of Kullu.
KNOW THE ACCUSED: Rakesh Kumar @ Rakku (30) s/O Sh. Beli Ram Present Address # 434, Govind Nagar, Nayagaon, Mohali, studied upto and woking as Property dealer and sale purchase of cars.. :- 854 gram Charas, Dessi Katta alongwith live cartridge and white color swift Car No. TO523CH 8637A. (Now he has been remanded to judicial remand)
MODUS OPERANDI: From the preliminary investigation, it come on record that Rakesh Kumar previously worked as Bouncer, where some drug addict come to his contact and he started selling Drug to them. He is selling the drug for the last 12 years. Rakesh Kumar purchases the Charas from Shanta and
further sold out to the students as well as selected persons who are his permanent customers.
PREVIOUS HISTORY: Accused Rakesh Kumar has tainted pasted and has been arrested in NDPS Act case previously by Chandigarh Police and accused Arrest of Main supplier Acting upon the disclosure statement of accused Rakesh Kumar @ Rakku raid was conducted at Vill. Lakheri, Distt. Mandi, Himachal Pradesh alongwith the accused and on the identification of accused Rakesh Kumar @ Rakku, the main supplier of Charas namely Shanta Kumar was arrested from near Vill. Lathery, Distt. Kullu under section 29 of NDPS Act.(SUBHEAD)
Accused Shanta was produced before the Hon’ble District Court and police remand was obtained to ascertain the sources of origin of recovered contraband drugs and name of person (s), whom, it to be sell in tricity as he was suppling the drug in tricity for the last 5 years.
KNOW THE MAIN SUPPLIER OF DRUGS: Shanta Kumar (35) S/o Jeet Singh, Vill. Lathery PS. Karsog Distt. Mandi, HP , studied upto +2, working as Contraxtor. He has also tainted past and has been arrested previously by Shimla Police in NDPS Act case.
ARREST OF MAIN DEALER AND PRODUCER: On the interrogation of Shanta Kumar it came on record that Shanta Kumar purchased Charas from one Sham resident of Kullu. Team of ANTF collected more information and nabbed the main dealer who yielded Charas in jungle area and prepared it and sold to the suppliers. Accused Sham is also arrested in u/s 29 NDPS Act.
PROFILE OF ACCUSED: Sham Chand (25) S/O Krishan Chand , Vill. Kumhalti, PO-Raman Naggar, Distt.
Kullu, HP, studied upto 10th class and professionally farmer. and remanded to police custody for further interrogation.
