TRINITY HOSPITAL STARTS 1ST COMPREHENSIVE SPINE INJURY UNIT IN THE REGION

Trinity Hospital & Medical Research Institute today launched its Spine & Neuro Rehabilitation Centre and Ortho & Sports Rehabilitation Centre in Zirakpur. This is first of its kind Comprehensive Spine Injury Unit in North in Private sector.

Dr Mohinder Kaushal, Chairman, Trinity Hospital and Medical Research Institute and Dept of Orthopaedics Zirakpur and Chandigarh, while addressing the media said, “Spinal Cord Injuries are known for their profound impact, causing significant social, economic, psychological, and physical consequences. Road traffic accidents, falls from heights, sports injuries, and assaults are among the common causes contributing to the prevalence of Spinal Cord Injuries. Recognizing the gravity of this condition, the World Health Organization has identified it as a major musculoskeletal concern, burdening individuals and society as a whole.”

Patient are involved in expanded program of resistive exercise, motor control, muscle re-education for the muscles which remain innervated. Emphasis is also placed in regaining posture and balance control, Ghosh said.
