CM THAKUR SUKHWINDER SINGH SUKHU CONDOLES DEATH OF THREE PEOPLE DUE TO LANDSLIDE IN KUMARSAIN

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has expressed deep condolences over the death of three people of a family in a landslide incident in Kumarsain tehsil of Shimla district.

In his condolence message, the Chief Minister prayed for peace to the departed souls and strength to the bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss. He said that the district administration has been directed to provide immediate relief to the affected families.

Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that government and private schools affiliated to Himachal Pradesh State Education Board and government and private colleges affiliated to Himachal Pradesh University and Sardar Patel University would remain closed on July 10 and 11, 2023, in view of heavy rains and adverse weather conditions.(SUBHEAD)

The Chief Minister said that on the basis of private school examinations conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) and other education boards in the state and local weather conditions, the decision to keep schools closed for these two days is at its own level.

CM has advised that the safety of the students and employees of the above educational institutions should be ensured at all levels.

He said that in view of the forecast of bad weather, the State Government has alerted the concerned district administration for safety measures and to make the general public aware about it.

The Chief Minister said that as per the warnings of the Meteorological Department, he appealed to the people to remain alert and not to go near rivers and drains. He also urged the people of the state to cooperate with the district administration and follow the guidelines issued by the administration.
