Keeping in view the presence scenario and Firing incidentsoccurred in the Tri-city and to curb the Crime,on the direction of Ms.KanwardeepKaur, IPS, SSP/UT under the supervision of Dr.VikasSheokand, DSP/DCC and Inspector Jasminder Singh, I/C DCC, teams of District Crime Cell succeeded in arresting 5accused persons under NDPS Act, Arms Act, Excise ACT and Theft.
Major Robbery bid on Sector-26, Grain Market Business man foiled and Gang of three persons arrested including the master mind.
On 12.07.2023, ASI Rahul Bhardwaj along with police officials of District Crime Cell, Sec-24, on secret information laid a naka near road diving, Sector-27 A/B, Chandigarh for checking of suspected vehicles and persons. During naka as per secret information three boys on Activa Scooter No. CH01-BA-2996, came from Motiram High School side towards naka point, who on seeing the police party at naka tried to flee away from the spot, but police party by showing their efficiency apprehended three boys,
They disclosed their name as Amit Hans S/O Satpal Hans, r/o # 1766, Phase II, Ramdarbar, Chandigarh Age 27 Years, Akshay Kumar S/o Anand Pal, r/o # 517, Phase I, Ramdarbar, Chandigarh, Age 24 years and Saleem Bhatti S/o Vijay Kumar Bhatti r/o # 71, Ward No. 36, Bhadurpur, gate, Hoshiarpur, Punjab, Age 24 years.
During search of Amit Hans one illegal Country Made Pistol (DesiKatta) and one live cartridge, search of Akshay Kumar two live Cartridge, one knife, one punch and search of Saleem Bhatti two Live Cartridge, one Iron Rod, one Scissor were recoveredfrom their possession without any Licence or Permit. In this regard accused Amit Hans, Akshay Kumar and SaleemBhatti has been arrested and case FIR dated 12.07.2023 U/s 25-54-59 Arms Act, PS-26, Chandigarh, was registered against them.
(SUBHEAD)During the course of investigation & interrogation of accused Amit Hans, It is revealed that he procured this Country made Pistol from one unknown person.
MODUS OPERANDI:–The master mind in this racket earlier worked with amazon delivery for 5 years and presently working with big basket as delivery boy. Amit Hans alongwith his associates Akshay Kumar and SaleemBhatti use to plan the robbery while getting together on drinks and Amit Hans instruct his associates how to rob the businessman of Grain Market, Sector-26, Chandigarh, during the wee hours.
Accused Amit Hans, Akshay Kumar and Saleem Bhatti were also arrested in E-FIR No.556 dated 12.07.2023, U/s 379 IPC, PS-34.
The further investigation of the case is in progress to know the source of illegal weapon and Cartridges.

Akshay Kumar (24) S/o Anand Pal, 517, Phase I, Ramdarbar, Chandigarh. still unemployed , Two live Cartridge, One knife and One punch recovered from him.
Saleem Bhatti (24) S/o Vijay Kumar Bhatti. 71, Ward No. 36, Bhadurpur, gate, Hoshiarpur, Punjab, is still unemployed and two Live Cartridge, One Iron Rod, One Scissor recovered from him.
NDPS ACT CASE: Cab driver arrested in NDPS Act and recovered 15.68 grams Heroin.
On 12.07.2023, ASI Rajesh Kumar along with police officials of District Crime Cell, Sec-24 were on patrolling near Nanda Farm House, KhudaJassu, Chandigarh to curb & detect the crime in the City.In the meantime one person was coming towards patrolling partyfrom Village KhudaJassu and on seeing police officialshe turned back and trying to throw some object.
On this police officials by showing their efficiency apprehended the suspected person who disclosed his name as Satnam Singh @ Laddus/o Jugraj Singh, R/o Village Arniwala, Distt Fazilka, Punjab (Age 27 years). On checking the object 15.68 grams heroin/chitta was found and recovered from his possession.
In this regard, accused Satnam Singh @ Laddu has been arrested and FIR dated 12.07.2023, U/ S 21 NDPS Act, Police Station Sector-11 has been registered against him. During interrogation, accused Satnam Singh @ Laddu disclosed that presently residing in Khuda lahora and running a Cab in Tri-City. Further he disclosed that he procured the Heroin contraband from different areas of Punjab and indulges in the drugs supply to meet his daily expenses since last 5/6 months. The further investigation of the case is in progress.

KNOW THE ACCUSED: Satnam Singh @ Laddu (27) S/o Jugraj Singh R/o Village Arniwala Sheikh Subhan, DisttFazilka, Punjab, presently residing at Village KhudaLahora, Chandigarh, studied upto 10th and working as CAB Driver
CRIMINAL BACKGROUND: After going through his criminal background it has been found that one case of 22 NDPS Act was found registered against him in 2021, U/S 22 NDPS Act, PS-Arniwala, Punjab with recovery of 410 tablets
EXCISE ACT CASE:– On 12.07.2023, ASI Hawa Singh along with police officials of District Crime Cell, Sec-24, were on patrolling in Sector-24 Chandigarh. During patrolling on suspicious they stopped a Swift Car Bearing No. PB27-H-1557 and on search of said vehicle total 36 boxes of illegal liquor (20 boxes of Rajdhani whiskey, 11 boxes of 111 ACE whiskey and 6 boxes of 999 Power Star Fine whiskey)were found and recovered. Driver of the car disclosed his name Vinit Kumar S/o Mehar Chand, r/o # 925, LIC Colony, Mundi Kharar, Mohali, Punjab, Age 36 years. In this regards accused Vinit Kumar were arrested and Case FIR No.113, dated 12.07.2023, u/s 61-1-14 Excise Act, Ps-11, Chandigarh has been registered against him.
