Large number of complaints regarding theft of mobile phones from PGI, Panjab University and Sector-15 are being reported. Keeping in view of the incidents of mobile theft, SHOs of Sub Division Central were directed to detect the mobile theft cases.
In a major breakthrough, the Chandigarh Police has succeeded to worked out the case of theft of mobile phones registered at Police Station-Sarangpur by arresting accused Munna R/o Distt Gopal Ganj, Bihar,Age 22 years and recovered total 10 mobile phones from his possession. Munna aged 22 years, a illiterate and still unmarried.
On 14.7.2023, a case FIR No. FIR No. 58, U/S 380 IPC was registered in Police Station Sarangpur on the complaint of Mohit Kumar Sharma R/o Village Sarangpur, Chandigarh regarding theft of mobile phones.
(SUBHEAD)Keeping in view of the sensitivity of the property crime, a team headed by InspHarminderjitSingh, SHO PS-Sarangpur, comprising along with other official of PS-Sarangpur was constituted under the close supervision of DSPGurmukh Singh, SDPO/Central to solved the above said case.The team has shown exemplary dedication towards their duty and worked out the said property crime case by arresting the accusedMunna in a very short span of time.
During the course of investigation total 10 mobile phones were recovered from his possession out of these 3mobile phones were involved in the present case and the remaining 7 other mobile phones were taken into police possession U/s 102 Cr.P.C. The verification of the mobile phones same are being carried out to establish the identity of the owners.
During further interrogation, he has disclosed that he used to stay at Bus Shelters and inside the PGI and after stealing the mobile phones from PGI Sec-12, Panjab University, Sector-15, Khuda Lahora and Khuda Jassu and further sold to another person who belongs to Bihar to fulfill hislust of drugs. Further investigation is going on.
