Whereas, Chandigarh Administration vide Notification No.6/1/195-FII(8)- 2019/9887-9891, dated 21.06.2019, had imposed sewerage cess at the rate 30% of water consumption amount on 'Residential Buildings' as well as 'Hotels/ Commercial Premises, Institutions and other categories' by way of amendments in the Chandigarh Water Supply Bye-Laws 2011 (as amended from time to time).
And whereas, the General House of Municipal Corporation in its 322nd Meeting dated 06.03.2023 has decided and recommended for reduction in the Sewerage Cess.(SUBHEAD)
Now, therefore in exercise of powers conferred under Punjab Municipal Corporation Act (as extended to the Union Territory, Chandigarh) 1994, the Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh in partial modification of the Notification dated 21.06.2019 is pleased to reduce the rate of sewerage cess from existing 30% to 25% for the remaining period of the financial year 2023-24, and to further reduce the rate of sewerage cess to 20% with effect from 1st April, 2024 onwards.
