ST. JOHN'S CELEBRATES VANMAHOTSAVA AND HERITAGE DAY

St. John's High School organised an inter-school competition to celebrate Vanmahotsava and Heritage Day which saw good participation from various schools in the city. The event was graced by the chief guest, Dr. Sangeeta Bagga Mehta and competition judges, Mr. Pramod Sharma and Mr. Viney Vadhera.

Nukkad Natak by students from Class 5 highlighted the importance of trees. The year 2023 has been announced as the Year of Millets and in line with that theme the millet cooking competition for students of Class 8 saw dishes like ragi patties, milk shakes, salads being served. Other unique competitive activities were organised like Rangoli using eco-friendly materials, recreating lost art forms and fading cultural practices from an Indian state chosen by the participants. Beautiful and creative posters and models depicting various art forms like patrachitra, madhubani etc. were made by the students. Lost cultural practices of different states like bahrupiyas, qissas were traced through models.

The Principal, Br. Ryan Fernandes applauded the efforts and talents of all participating students and encouraged them to continue promoting such rich cultural heritage.
