The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested TWO accused among brother of Ex Deputy Mayor Anil Dubey brother Munish Dubey alias Bablu in an alleged bribery of Rs.Three lakh, whereas Police Constable of Chandigarh Police Pawan Kumar still at large
A case was registered on 31.07.2023 on complaint against a constable of Chandigarh Police Pawan Kumar and two private persons Munish Dubey alias Bablu and Anil Goyal Kukki on the allegations of demanding bribe. It was further alleged that the public servant demanded undue advantage through middlemen (private persons) in lieu of not adding the name of the Complainant in a case investigated by Operation Cell of Chandigarh Police.(SUBHEAD)
CBI laid a trap and apprehended two private person Manish Dubey Alias Babloo , brother of Ex Deputy Mayor Anil Dube and Anil Goyal Alias Kukki, while accepting bribe of Rs. Three lakh on behalf of public servant. The other private person was also caught. Searches were conducted at the premises of the accused including public servant, private person etc which led to recovery of incriminating documents.
The arrested accused remanded to CBI for further interrogation by the Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Chandigarh.
Meanwhile the role of a Inspector Harinder Sekhon , incharge of Operation Cell, also comes under scanner and he has been sent to Police Line as CBI has summoned him to join the investigation.
