Punjab Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer congratulated Mansa based Archer Parneet Kaur on becoming the World Champion. 

The Indian women's compound team defeated Mexico in the final of the World Archery Championship by 235-229 in Berlin. The gold medal winning team included Parneet Kaur from village Mandhali in Mansa district of Punjab.

Congratulating the entire team for this historic achievement, the Sports Minister said that the proud girls have brought glory to the name of the country in the sport of archery. Meet Hayer credited the players, their coaches and their parents for this rare achievement.

He said that Parneet Kaur who was an important member of the gold winning team also contributed to this achievement.
