Middle order batters – Yuvraj Rai and Hardik Chaudhary shared a 79-run partnership for the fourth wicket for Leisure Zone to beat Plaza by 70 runs in a one sided affair on the fifth day of UTCA T20 Cricket Domestic League being played at the Sector 16 Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.

Batting first, Leisure Zone once struggling at 37/3 was boasted by the fine contributions from Yuvraj Rai (44) and Hardik Chaudhary (43) who took the team to a respectable score of 166/5. Earlier, Skipper Arjun Azad (10), Tushar Joshi (0) and Gaurav Puri (23) fell cheaply.

Surya Narayan (23) and Arpit Pannu (14) remained unbeaten. In reply, apart from Siddhant Kathuria (35) and skipper Sandeep Sharma (19), no batter could touch double figures and the entire team was bundled out for mere 96 runs. Nipun Pandita (3/18) and Jatin (3/22) shared three wickets each. Nipun Pandita was declared man of the match.

Earlier in the morning, the match between Terrace Zone and Sukhna Zone started late due to wet outfield and was limited to five overs each. Sukhna Zone defeated Terrace Zone by five wickets in the last ball. Batting first, Terrace Zone scored 56/6 with the help of quickfire from Amrit Lubana (22 runs off 8 balls).

Amit Shukla (2/14) clinched two vital wickets. In reply, Sukhna Zone fumbled at 7/2 at one point and was well compensated by the fine innings of Nehal Pajni (23 runs off 9 balls) and Sagar Sarahan (18 runs off 10 balls). Vishal Thind (1) smashed the winning stroke on the last ball of the match to give Sukhna Zone the five wicket win. Amit Shukla was awarded man of the match for his excellent fielding and bowling.
