6 DRUG SMUGGLERS ARRESTED; 78 lakhs CASH, 200 gm HEROIN & 108 gm AMPHETAMINE RECOVERED

In a major breakthrough, Chandigarh Police got a major Success under the direction of Sh. Ketan Bansal, IPS, SP/Crime and close guidance of DSP Crime Sh. Udaypal Singh, a team of ANTF under the supervision of Inspector Satvinder Singh, launched a special drive against major International drug syndicate with hub in Ferozepur, Punjab and getting supply from across the border busted, succeeded in arresting 6 drug smugglers and recovering 78 Lakh cash, 200 grams Heroin, 108 gram Amphetamine and one pistol.
It is recapitulated that on 27.07.2023, Shubham Jain @ Gourav S/o Devinder Jain R/o House No.900, Sector-45, Burial Chandigarh, age-28 years was apprehended alongwith 108 Grams Amphetamine Ice and 70 Grams Heroin and arrested on 28.07.2023.
In this regard a Case FIR No. 115 Dt. 28.07.2023 U/S 21 NDPS ACT, PS-34, UT Chandigarh was got registered against him and was taken into police custody.
On the basis of disclosure of Shubham Jain, follow up raids and searches, ANTF Unit busted the entire chain of International drug syndicate operating from Ferozepur, Punjab. On 29.7.2023 accused Puneet Kumar was arrested from Ferozepur and one Country Made Pistol along with 5 live cartridges was recovered from him.
On the interrogation/identification of Puneet, three drug smugglers namely Pawan Preet Singh, Ravinder Pal Singh and Chandan were arrested. On the disclosure of Ravinder Pal Singh, Jagjeet @ Jagga has been brought on production warrant from Ferozepur Jail and arrested in this case.
KNOW THE ACCUSED
Shubham Jain @ Gourav S/o Devinder Jain R/o House No.900, Sector-45, Burial Chandigarh, age-28 years., He is first accused of the case and used to selling drugs to youth in tricity., 108 Grams Amphetamine Ice & 70 Grams Heroin from him. He qas previously arrested by Chandigarh Police alongwith 60 Gram Heroin and 3 gram Amphetamine. In another case he was arrested by STF Mohali alongwith 170 grams Heroin.
Puneet Kumar S/o Rajesh Kumar R/o # Nizamudeen Basti Aggarwal/Pipe Factory, Ferozepur city District- Ferozepur, Punjab, age-24 years. Puneet was a Ferozepur based supplier, who use to supply drug to Shubham Jain in Chandigarh and in Tricity. One country made pistol .32 Bore & 5 live cartridges & 22.96 Grams Heroin (on the instance of accused Puneet Kumar & Pawan Preet Singh). He was not involved in any previous case. (SUBHEAD)
Pawan Preet Singh S/o Gurvail Singh R/o Naya Purbha Chungi No. 8 PS-Kulgarhi Teh./Distt. Ferozepur, aged 24 years, He was an accomplice of Puneet. 22.96 Grams Heroin (on the instance of accused Puneet Kumar & Pawan Preet Singh). No pecioua history.
Chandan S/o Om Parkash R/o # 488 Gali No.24 Tanka Wali Basti, Distt- Ferozpur, Punjab, age-23 years. Chandan used to supply drug to both accused Puneet and Pawan Preet. He is a tout of Austria Based drug smuggler Simran and work on his directions. Rs.78, 38200/- Cash drug money and 107.52 Gram Heroin recovered from him He was arrested by Ferozepur Police in 2016 and 5 grams heroin was recovered from him and later on acquitted in the case.
Ravinder Pal Singh @ Ravi S/o Sardar Bahar Singh R/o Village-Modre Teh/Distt. Ferozpur, Punjab, age-31 years., He also used to supply drug to Puneet. About 5 lakh was transacted by Puneet in Ravinderpal Singh’s Bank account. No previous crime record found.
Jagjeet @ Jagga s/o Sh. Butta Singh R/o Vill. Sherpur Tippa Dharamkot Distt. Makhu Distt. Moga Punjab, age-33 years. On the basis of Ravinderpal interrogation, he was brought on production warrant on 11.08.2023 from Ferozepur Jail. He was operating his network from jail. He was in contact with Pakistan based smugglers and also in touch with Hawala operator in Punjab. Previous History:– He has been arrested in 7 cases: i.e. in 2014, a case u/s 323,324 IPC PS-Dharamkot was also registered against him. (Acquitted), In 2015, 4 Kg heroin was recovered u/s 29 NDPS PS-Makhu, Moga and has been sentence for 11 years in this case., In 2015, 1 Kg heroin was recovered u/s 21 NDPS PS-Makhu from him and has been sentence for 10 in this case also, In 2015 case was arrested in attempt to murder (307 IPC) PS-Dharamkot. (under trail), In 2015, he was also arrested in Attempt to murder (307 IPC) case of PS-Ghal Khurd, Ferozepur. (Acquitted), In 2018 he was also arrested u/s 22 NDPS Act PS-Dharamkot and 1 kg 100gram power was recovered. (under trail), In 2020 he was arrested in murder case at PS Patti Saddar (under trail).

MODUS OPERANDI: During investigation and interrogation of accused, it has been revealed that the kingpin of this syndicate is Simran Singh R/o Ferozepur, who is presently (Abroad) in Melbourne, Australia and operating his network from there. He is in contact with Pakistan based smugglers Arif Dogar and used border area for smuggling Heroin through drones and plastic bottles left in river water and collected with the help of his accomplice in India. Chandan was the main of them he also collected drug money for him and handed over to Hawala operator on Simran’s direction. This drug money was to be handed over on Simran’s directions but before this the police had nabbed him. Simran was previously arrested by Mohali Police in 2018 for carjacking, he also snatched three vehicles on gun point from Panchkula. Total five criminal cases are pending against him. All accused are using international WhatsApp and virtual numbers. The drug money was paid to Pakistani smugglers through Hawala. Still, more investigation is continuing and more persons are expected to be arrested during investigation.
Presently, accused Jagjeet Singh @ Jagga, Ravinder @ Ravi and Chandan are under Police custody remand upto 14.08.2023, 13.08.2023 & 16.08.2023 respectively. Whereas, other accused Shubham Jain @ Gourav, Puneet Kumar and Pawan Preet Singh has been sent to judicial custody by order of court.
