Batting down at five, Chiragveer Dhindsa quickfire (42 off 26 balls) steered Rock Zone to register a thrilling six-run win over Leisure Zone at the ongoing UTCA T20 Cricket League played at Cricket Stadium, Sector 16 on Saturday.

(MOREPIC1)(MOREPIC2)Rock Zone scored 159/6 in the stipulated twenty overs wherein skipper Harnoor Singh and Karan Kalia also scored 32-32 runs each. Opponent captain Arjun Azad (3/24) took three wickets. In reply, top scorer opener Dipansh Bhuchar (58) failed to get support from the other end as the team bundled out for 153 in the last delivery of the match. Gaurav Puri and Jagjit Singh added 19 runs each. Neel Dhaliwali (3/33) was the top wicket taker who also adjudged as man of the match. 

Earlier, the first match of the day started on a late note wherein Sukhna Zone defeated Terrace Zone by 16 runs. Batting first, Sukhna Zone unbeaten batters – Nehal Pajni (43 runs in 30 balls) and Sanyam Saini (27 runs in 11 balls) laid a strong foundation of 96/5 in the stipulated ten overs. In response, the aggressive innings of captain Bhagmender Lather (36 runs off 16 balls) failed to bore the result in his favour as the team was reduced to 80/6. Nehal was awarded the man of the match.
