PUNJAB GOVERNOR RELEASES K. SIVA PRASAD’S 'GITA ACHARAN – EK SADHAK DE DRISHTIKON TON

The Governor of Punjab Sh. Banwari Lal Purohit released the Punjabi version of the book 'Gita Acharan -a practitioner's perspective' called (Gita Acharan – Ek Sadhak de Drishtikon ton) at Punjab Raj Bhawan, Chandigarh. This was written by K. Siva Prasad who is an IAS officer of Punjab Cadre.

The Governor said that he is inspired by Bhagavad Gita. It helped him to derive strength to lead a spotless public life for the past fifty years. He said that his day starts with recital of twelfth chapter of the Bhagavad Gita. He expressed his satisfaction for efforts made by Siva Prasad to bring it in various languages and make Bhagavad Gita easier to understand even to a common person.

(SUBHEAD)Siva Prasad explained that this book is an attempt to elaborate the concepts in a very simple manner, in the form of short essays. The complex issues presented in the Gita were simplified through these articles using contemporary scientific understanding. This will help even a beginner and especially youth to under Gita to make their lives joyful. They will be able to handle the stress and tension they face in daily lives.

He said that this is the result of more than thirty years of work in this area. The experience gained with people and situations helped him to understand the preaching of the Gita. Apart from this, he studied Western thinking processes and behavioral sciences to supplement his daily experience.

He hoped that this translated work in Punjabi would help Punjabi readers from all over the world to get the benefit of reading the Gita Acharan in their mother tongue for better understanding. This book is already available in English, Hindi, Odia and Telugu.
