The 77th Independence Day of our nation was celebrated with solemnity and dignity at St. John's High School. The festivities began with inspiring patriotic songs reverberating in the corridors of the school. The National Flag was hoisted at 9:00 am, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. Later, an awareness bicycle ride to commemorate this special occasion was flagged off by Br. P. Pinto.

This was followed by a cultural programme presented by the students of Class 8. It included patriotic speeches, soul-stirring songs, foot-tapping dances, a motivating nukkad naatak on the care of our Earth, etc. The Brothers, Principal Br. R. Fernandes, Staff, NCC Cadets and students attended this Independence Day celebration.

The Principal reminded the students that independence and responsibility go hand in hand. So, as the future of the nation, they are invited to cherish freedom with responsibility. The programme concluded with refreshments and everyone dancing to patriotic songs while soaking in the spirit of freedom.
