CHANDIGARH COURT SENTENCED 2 YEAR IMPRISONMENT TO HOTLIER IN 3.55 CRORE CHEQUE BOUNCE CASE

The District Court Judge of  on Thursday has sentenced Sunil Kumar Bansal, the owner of the famous Hotel Turquoise located in Industrial Area Phase-2, to two years imprisonment under negotiable instrument Act 138 in 3.55 crore cheque bounce case, however, Priyanka Bansal, wife of Sunil Kumar Bansal, co-accused in the case, has been acquitted due to lack of evidence.

The complainant TDS Management Consultant Pvt. located in Phase-6 of Mohali  Director Arvind Baluni  filed case against the above said accusted that there was an agreement between him and Sunil Kumar Bansal, the director of Hotel Turquoise, regarding the lease deed of the hotel on April 7, 2017. 

(SUBHEAD)The complainant paid Rs.3 crore to the accused through a cheque, which was rncashed by the accused from HDFC Bank on 11 April 2017, but the contract which was to be implemented on 15 April 2017, but the accused failed to give possession of the hotel to the complainant.

It was alleged that the accused had already leased out the hotel to someone else. In this way the accused cheated with him. Despite repeated requests, the complainant did not get possession of the hotel. Neither the lease amount of three crore rupees was returned. The accused later agreed to pay back Rs 3.55 crore and issued a cheque of Rs. 3.55 Crores  on 11 January, 2018 to the Complaintant company. The cheque bounced as the accusted  got closed the Bank Account.
