Kushti (Wrestling) and Kabaddi are integral part of our rich heritage and these games depict our culture in its true spirit. These games also playing key role in keeping our youth away from drugs with engaging them in sports grounds. These words were expressed by Lokpal (Ombudsman) Punjab Justice Vinod K. Sharma while attending the Kabaddi Cup and Kushti Dangal as the Chief Guest at village Oind in Morinda on Saturday.

Lauding the efforts being made to connect the youth with games Justice Vinod K. Sharma encouraged the youngsters and called them to make sports an integral part of their lives to lead a good life. For the creation of healthy society, it is necessary that society to be physically and mentally fit by adopting sports activities in daily routine.

(SUBHEAD)This event dedicated to the memory of Sri Guga Jahar Peer Ji, was organised in tandem with Nehru Yuva Kendra Ropar, Youth Welfare Club, Gram Panchayat and residents. In these sports competitions, a prize of one lakh rupees and a buffalo was given to winner of wrestling competition.

On this occasion, Secretary Lokpal Punjab Harbans Singh, SDM Morinda Dipankar Garg, DSP Morinda Manjit Singh Aulakh, Tehsildar Morinda Maninder Singh Sidhu, Advocate Anmol Maan, Advocate Prince Maan, SHO Sadar Morinda Simranjit Singh, Youth Welfare Club President Kuldeep Singh, Nambardar Bahadar Singh, Jaskaran Singh and other dignitaries were present.
