CHANDIGARH NSS OFFICER DR. RANJNA SHARMA SELECTED FOR NATIONAL AWARD, PRESIDENT TO CONFER ON SEPT. 29

NSS Programme officer Dr. Ranjna Sharma of Post Graduate Govt. College for Girls, Sector-42, Chandigarh has been selected for conferring the National Service Scheme NSS award for the year 2021 22 under program officer / unit category.

The Hon’ble President of India will confer the award at Rashtrapati Bhavan on 29th September 2023 at Darbar Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi in the presence of College Principal Prof. Nisha Agrwal.

Shri. Amandeep Sing Batti, Director Higher Education, UT Chandigarh congratulated Dr. Ranjna Sharma and the Principal of the college for this big achievement. He also congratulated Chandigarh NSS Cell and appreciated the efforts of State Liaison Officer Dr. Nemi Chand.

State Liaison Officer Dr. Nemi Chand informed that it is matter of pride for UT Chandigarh and Chandigarh NSS Cell that efforts of NSS got acknowledged and rewarded by the Government of India. He congratulated Dr.Rajana and said that definitely it will motivate other programme officers and volunteers to full fill the motto ‘Not Me But You’.

This award is given for extra ordinary efforts made by Dr. Ranjna as NSS Programme Officer in field of environment protection, Waste segregation and Management, curbing single-use plastics, Cycle rallies, Street plays on Water Conservation and Swachhta and Cleanliness, organising blood donation camps. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the NSS unit under her guidance mobilized and distributed hundreds of masks, hand sanitisers, stationary, basic essentials items and food to the needy and worked tirelessly on creating awareness and observance of COVID-19 appropriate behaviour to stop its spread.
