THE JOHN'S MUN MARKED THE CULMINATION OF THREE DAYS OF INTENSE DIPLOMATIC DISCUSSIONS CONCLUDES

The John’s MUN conference kicked off with a tremendous start on October 21, 2023 as delegates gathered for the much-anticipated opening ceremony. The event was inaugurated by Br. Ryan Fernandes, Principal of St. John's High School, Br. L. D Lobo, Secretary of St. John's High School, who was the chief guest and Mr. Shivam Garg, COO of Silver Fern Education Consultants. The ceremony featured captivating performances by the “Wings of Harmony” and the school choir.

The conference organised in partnership with Silver Fern Education Consultants, featured a total of nine committees, each addressing crucial topics including the United Nations General Assembly, the United Nations Security Council, the United Nations Human Rights Council, a Crisis Committee, Lok Sabha, International Criminal Court, International Press, United Nations Security Council, and the Historic White House Situation Room. These committees started their discussions with great enthusiasm, engaging in thoughtful debates and discussions on matters of global importance.

On Day 2 of the John's MUN conference, the committees were back in full swing, delving deeper into their respective agendas. Delegates continued to demonstrate their commitment to find solutions to the complex issues before them. On Day 3, the committees continued their work, entering the final leg of discussions. The atmosphere was electric, with delegates striving to finalise and pass resolutions that would address the world's most pressing challenges.

The closing ceremony on the 23rd of October marked the culmination of three days of intense diplomatic discussions and collaborative efforts. During the closing ceremony, trophies were awarded to recognise the best delegates in each committee demonstrating exceptional leadership, outstanding diplomacy, and a profound understanding of their topic.

The Best School delegation award was handed to Bhavan Vidyalaya, Chandigarh. The closing ceremony also featured a vibrant and culturally rich Bhangra performance by the students of the school. It was a fitting conclusion to a successful conference that undoubtedly left a lasting impact on all those involved.
