I S DEV SAMAJ SCHOOL HOLDS ANNUAL SPORTS DAY

The Annual Sports Day of I S Dev Samaj Sr. Sec. School was organised at the school's premises in Sec 21-C. The chief guest of the event was Dronacharya Awardee, Shiv Singh. Amit Dewan and Damanjit Kaur were the guests' of honour. Sabeeha Dhillon Mangat, Principal, I S Dev Samaj School and Dr. (Mrs.) Jaspal Kaur the manager of the school along-with members of the School Management Committee(SMC) also graced the occasion.

The programme started with the Dev Samaj prayer followed by a riveting march past by NCC students and students of different houses. After the march past; the chief guest declared the sports meet open.

Different track events were conducted for the students of different classes. In the 'Dress Race' Naitik from 6-A was declared winner and Sahej from 6-A was adjudged 1st runner up. In girls Vaishnavi from 6-B was the winner and Nishika (6-B) 1st runner up. In 'Sack Race' (Girls) Mehak (10-A) won while Pooja (10-A) was 1st runner up. In the 'Hurdle Race', in boys' Chirag (8-A) came first and Salman (8-A) 2nd, in girls' Rashi (8-A) won while Gorika (8-A) came 2nd. In the 'Three Leg Race' Aman & Mukul (7-A) came first and Harsh & Ronit (7-B) were declared 1st runner up. Sakshi & Anshika (7-B) and Aastha & Harnoor (7-B & 7-A) came 1st and 2nd respectively. In 'Skipping Race' Vivek (9-D) was declared winner and Nakul (9-C) 1st runner up. In girls' Yashita 9-B and Anushka(9-A) came 1st and 2nd respectively. In 'Slow Cycling' boys' Tushar(10-B) won. In 'Obstacle Race' Sanchit (11-G) was the winner and Sunny (11-G) was 2nd. In 'Balance Ball Race' Jaspreet Kaur & Ekam (11-B) came first while Vanshika & Aastha (11-F) were declared 1st runner up.

Dance performances by the students added colour to the event . Different stalls serving various eatables and offering interesting games were put-up by the different house teachers. The sports meet concluded with a vote of thanks given by the school principal , Sabeeha Dhillon Mangat.
