CHANDIGARH EXCISE DEPTT. TEAMS CONDUCTED RAID ON VARIOUS LIQUOR VENDERS , NEARLY 1800 BOTTLES FOUND WITHOUT VALID PERMITS

In order to curb the illegal sale of Imported Foreign Liquor, Indian Made Foreign Liquor and Country Liquor (IFL, IMFL and CL), from the liquor vends and to prevent evasion of Excise Levies & Taxes, an enforcement team of the Excise and Taxation Department, U.T. Chandigarh, conducted a series of random inspections on the liquor vends located in Sector 7, 19, 20, 22, 44 and Phase-2 during past few days as an on-going special enforcement drive.

During these inspections, a total of 1315 bottles of various brands of IFL, MFL and 480 bottles of various brands of CL were found without valid pass/permits and were confiscated by the inspecting teams. Cases for breach of Excise Law have been initiated against the defaulter licensees.

Excise Department has been actively coordinating with Chandigarh Police for curbing illegal smuggling by way of sharing of information and regular coordination meetings.

(SUBHEAD)This operation is part of the on-going efforts to maintain the integrity of the Excise system and protect the interests of the citizens of Chandigarh.

The Excise Department will continue taking stringent action against any individual or establishment found involved in such illegal activities. Those found involved in duty evasion will be held accountable under Excise laws.

Excise deptt. urged the citizens of Chandigarh to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to the sale of alcoholic beverages to the Excise and Taxation Department.

Such collaborative efforts will be pivotal in maintaining the integrity of our liquor distribution system and furthering the cause of responsible drinking. 

EXCISE DEPTT. ANNOUNCE THE EQUITABLE DISTRIBUTION OF UN ALLOTED VENDS

On Completion of the e-tendering process for auction of Retail Sale Liquor Vends (L-2/L-14A) of U.T., Chandigarh for the year 2023-24 and in accordance with the provisions of Clause 14 of the Chandigarh Excise Policy for the year 2023-24 (effective from 01.04.2023 to 31.03.2024), the Excise & Taxation Department, Chandigarh hereby announce the equitable distribution of un-allocated quota of un-allotted Retail Sale Liquor Vend (L-2/L-14A) to the successful allotted Retail Sale Liquor Vends (L-2/L-14A).

As part of our commitment to transparency, fairness, and efficient allocation, the Excise & Taxation Department Chandigarh has included a mechanism within the Excise Policy to ensure that unallocated quota of un-allotted Retail Sale Liquor Vends (L-2/L-14A) is equitably distributed amongst the allotted Retail Sale Liquor Vends (L-2/L-14A) for the Excise Policy year 2023-24 (01.04.2023 to 31.03.2024)
