Chandigarh Transport Undertaking, serving as the Nodal office, successfully organized the E-Auction of official vehicles. In adherence to the established procedure, CTU conducted the auction of 697 seized/recovered/impounded motor vehicles from the Traffic Police Department. Many of these vehicles, held for over a decade at Traffic Lines, Sector-29, and Children Traffic Park, Sector-23, Chandigarh, were auctioned through Ms MSTC, a Central Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Steel, Government of India.

The E-Auction, held on 6th December 2023, received authorization from the Hon'ble Chief Judicial Magistrate, U.T., Chandigarh, courtesy of Chandigarh Police. The Chandigarh Administration successfully realized a financial gain of Rs 43,65,000/- (excluding taxes) by selling these privately impounded vehicles to Registered Scrapping Vehicle Facilities through MSTC.
