ACCUSED PURCHASED CHARASFROM KULLU AND SELLS IN TRICITY

Keeping in view the present scenario and special drive against drugs mafia, on the directions ofMs. KanwardeepKaur, IPS, SSP/UT under the supervision of Sh. Dilsher Singh Chandel, DSP/DCC and Inspector Jasminder Singh, I/C DCC, team of District Crime Cell succeeded in arresting one person under NDPS Act.
On 09.12.2023, ASI Rajesh Kumar along with police officials of District Crime Cell, Sector-24, Chandigarh, were on patrolling duty in UT Area. During patrolling when they reached near Small Chowk, Sec-16/23, Sec-23/A, they saw a person carrying bag coming from Sec-23 towards the patrolling party. On seeing police party he turned back and started walking fast.
On suspicion, ASI Rajesh Kumar along with police party apprehended the suspected person. On checking drug contraband i.e CHARAS was found from him. On weighing, the drug contrabands 236Grams Charas was found and recovered from his possession.
(SUBHEAD)He disclosed his name as Aman Thakur S/o Lekh Chand R/o PG H.no. 3070, First floor,Sec-22/D, Chandigarh Age- 23 years (PG), Permanent Address-Vill. Thamoh, PS- Killar, Distt Chamba, HP. Accused Aman Thakur has been arrested and case FIR No. 188 dated 09.12.2023 U/s 20 NDPS Act, PS- 17, Chandigarh was registered against him.
During the course of investigation, accused Aman Thakurdisclosed that he indulge in this drug selling business from 5-6months. He used to purchase the contrabands from Kullu, Himachal Pradesh and was selling in tri-city area to earn profits. Further he disclosed the he is a B.ech engineer pass out from Jammu University and is preparing for UPSC and came Chandīgarh for coaching. He is residing in a PG in Sector-22, Chandigarh.
Accused AmanThakur produced before the Hon’ble Court to get his police remand to know the origin of contraband. The further investigation of the case is in progress.
