In a major breakthrough, Chandigarh Police got a major success while acting against drug suppliers. A team of Crime Branch on the direction of Sh. Ketan Bansal, IPS, SP/Crime and close guidance of DSP Crime Sh. Udaypal Singh and under the supervision of Inspector Ashok Kumar nabbed drug supplier namely Dheeraj Sharma @ Sunny (30) S/o Late Sh. Ravinder Kumar Sharma. 30, Vill. DaduMajra, Chandigarh and recovered 30 gram heroin from his possession.
The accused is having links and is in continuous touch with gangster Bhupi Rana, who is presently lodged in Bathinda Jail.
On 7.12.2023 police party headed by SI Jasbir Singhwas on crime control and prevention patrolling duty in the area of Police Station Maloya. While police party was near turn road EWS Colony, Maloya Chandigarh, on suspicion one person was apprehended a Case FIR No.135 Dt. 12.8.2023 U/S 21 NDPS ACT, PS-MJ, UT Chandigarh against him.
(SUBHEAD)Accused Dheeraj has tainted past and had previously been arrested in four cases i.e. 2 case of NDPS and 1 of trespassing of PS-39, 1 case of rioting of PS-34.
From the investigation it come to notice that he is in touch with gangster Bhupi Rana, who is presently is Bathinda Jail and know his associates. He further disclosed that he purchased the drug from Raja Jhansi, Amritsar at the low prise and sold it at a high rate in the tricity.
Accused Dheeraj was produced before the Hon’ble District Court and police remand is obtained to ascertain apprehend the main supplier from Amritsar and associates of gangster Bhupi Rana.
