The State Transport Authority's Command & Control Centre (C&CC) conducted a live demonstration for the public, showcasing the advanced Vehicle Location Tracking Devices (VLTD) and Panic Buttons now installed in all registered public service vehicles in Chandigarh.

In emergency situations, the public is urged to press the panic button. Upon activation, the Command & Control Centre (C&CC) instantly receives panic alerts, and simultaneous alerts are transmitted to NERS-112 Chandigarh Police in real time, including the location for swift response and assistance, such as medical aid or fire control, for passengers. It is strongly recommended that individuals use or hire public service vehicles equipped with Vehicle Location Tracking Devices and Panic Buttons to ensure a safe and secure travel experience.

The panic button triggers real-time alerts sent seamlessly to both the Command & Control Centre (C&CC) and NERS-112 Chandigarh Police, ensuring a dual alert system for prompt action and necessary assistance, whether medical or fire-related.
