The alumni meet of Dr. Shanti Swarup BhatnagarUniversity Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Panjab University was held on Saturday. The proceedings commenced with a cordial reception of Chief Guest Dr.ArunVerma, Chairman and CEO of Nova Asset Management, along with Guests of Honour, Shri. Ajay Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India and Shri. Surinder S. Saini, Cluster Site President, Reliance Industries.
The esteemed Honourable Vice Chancellor of Panjab University, Prof. Renu Vig and other dignitaries and alumni graced the occasion.
(SUBHEAD)Dr.Arun Verma along with other dignitaries present unveiled the commemorative plaque, symbolizing the generous donation of Rs. 3.5 crore by Dr.ArunVerma& Late Dr. Arvind Varma, alumni of 1966 batch, for the development and upgradation of the department.Prof.RenuVig encouraged the alumni to participate in various academic, research and innovation activities of department for quality enriched education. Shri. Ajay Sood emphasized the pivotal role of youth in developing sustainable indigenous technologies to bolster India's self-reliance.
The event featured the enthusiastic participation of distinguished alumni from the Chemical Engineering department. The Illustrious Alumni Award 2023 was conferred upon Shri. Surinder S. Saini and Shri. HaritNagpal. Felicitations for the Golden and Silver Jubilee batch alumni were conducted during the function.
The Alumni shared their experiences, highlighting the significance of reunions in cherishing the golden memories from their time at the department and discussed ways to contribute to the institute and society at large.
Prof.Anupama Sharma, Chairperson of Dr. SSBUICET, expressed delight at the substantial turnout and highlighted the department's progress in all fields. Prof.Ritu Gupta, Alumni Coordinator, SSBUICET, extended gratitude to all who contributed in making this program a great success and thanked all the alumni who graced the occasion with their benevolent presence.
