The Excise & Taxation Department, UT Chandigarh conducted surprise inspections at 2 Vend’s and 1 warehouse of imported liquor( L1F) on 22.12.23 & 23.12.23 .
Two teams headed by Ms Nirpjit Kaur, ETO and Randhir Singh ETO carried out the inspections. The liquor was verified and a total of 209 Bottles & 71 cases of different brands of IMFL /IFLt and imported wine were found without valid permits/passes.
The same were confiscated by the Excise team and further action will be taken against these licencees as per the provisions of Excise Act.
Collector Excise Rupesh Aggarwal, IAS said that the Excise Department will continue to check unauthorised activities, if any, by it's licencees in future also.
