Police achieved major success by working out a murder case within 20 hours by arresting accused persons namely Naginder @ Allu S/o Vidya Shankar R/o # 753A, HBC, Colony No. 4, Ind. Area, Phase-1, Chandigarh, Sunil @ Lalji S/o Ram Achal Yadav R/o # 909, Ramdarbar, Phase-2, Chandigarh & Ranjit S/o Ramesh Kumar R/o # 996, Village Kishangarh, Chandigarh, in a murder case FIR No. 04 Dated 04.01.2024 U/s-323, 302, 34 IPC, PS-19, Chandigarh. On 03.01.2024 at about 08.45 PM, a scuffle broke out in Sadar Bazaar in which, Sunil got injured and fell down.
On seeing this scuffle, people gathered and the attackers ran away from the spot. The injured Sunil, age 25 years S/o Jagat Ram R/o # 1087, EWS, Dhanas, Chandigarh was taken to GMSH-16, Chandigarh, where he succumbed to his injury during his treatment.
During the course of investigation it was revealed that Ranjit & Sunil were working as salesman in Sadar Bazar, Sector-19, Chandigarh.
On 03.01.24, Ranjit and his friends attacked Sunil who was stabbed in his thigh. He was taken to the hospital and later succumbed to his injury.
Under the directions of SSP UT Ms Kanwardeep Kaur and guidance of SP City Sh Mridul, a dedicated team comprising of SHO Ind Area Inspector Jaspal Bhullar, SHO 19 Inspector Juldan, IC Dariya SI Sudesh, Add SHO Ind Area SI Kuldeep, C Sukhpreet PS Ind Area under the close supervision of Ms. Palak Goel, SDPO/East was constituted to solve the crime.
With the tireless efforts of this team, Chandigarh Police was able to work out this heinous offence by immediately nabbing the main accused. The following three main accused of the case have been nabbed and knife & stick used in the crime have also been recovered from their possession:-

Sunil @ Lalji (20) S/o Ram Achal Yadav, 909, Ramdarbar, Phase-2, Chandigarh, Education 10+2, Profession Working in a Lotus Ice Cream Factory, Derabassi, Punjab, Date of arrest 04.01.2023.
Ranjit S/o Ramesh Kumar, 996, Village Kishangarh, Chandigarh, Age 22 years, Education 10th, Profession Salesman at shop no. 313, Sadar Bazar, Sector-19, Chd., Date of arrest 04.01.2023.
