In a major breakthrough, Chandigarh Police got a major success while acting against drug suppliers. A team of Crime Branch on the direction of Sh. Ketan Bansal, IPS, SP/Crime and close guidance of DSP Crime Sh. Udaypal Singh and under the supervision of Inspector Ashok Kumar nabbed drug peddlers namely Pamesh Arora and recovered 271.65 Grams Heroin from his possession as well as co-accused Harjinder Singh @ Billa and recovered 20.62 Grams Heroin and 1 country made pistol with magazine
and 4 live cartridges.
Police said, on 7.2.2024, one team headed by SI Jasbir Singh was on Crime Control and prevention patrolling duty in the area of Police Station Sector 34, Chandigarh. The police party received secret information regarding drug peddling in Sector 45, U.T, Chandigarh, acting upon the information the police party apprehended Pamesh Arora and Harjinder Singh @ Bill and information was given to DSP/Crime, who reached at the spot and search of both accused was carried out.
(SUBHEAD)On search of accused Pamesh Arora 271.65 Grams Heroin recovered from his possession and 20.62 Grams Heroin as well as 1 country made pistol with magazine and 4 live cartridges was recovered from the possession of accused Harjinder Singh @ Billa on 08.02.2024.In this regard a Case FIR No. 09 Dt. 08.02.2024 U/S 21 NDPS Act and 25-54-59 Arms Act, PS-34, UT Chandigarhregistered against them
KNOW THE ACCUSED: Pamesh Arora S/o Late Sh. Ram Gopal R/o # 2234, Sector-45, Chandigarh, age-36 years. He has tainted past and had been arrested by NCB, Chandigarh.
Harjinder Singh @ Billa S/o Sh. Gurcharan Singh R/oVillageBhankarpur, Gurunanak Nagar, PS-Dera Bassi, Distt-SAS Nagar Mohali, PB age-33 years. He has previously been arrested by Punjab Police in 5 cases i.e. 3 cases of attempt to murder, 1 case of dacoity and 1 case of theft.
INVESTIGATION SO FAR: During investigation it come to notice that accused Harjinder Singh @ Billa is employee of Pamesh Arora, they used to purchase the heroin in bulk from a notorious gangster Rajan Bhatti who is resident of Gurdaspur, Punjab and Jagga resident of Fatehgarh and have links with drug peddlers across the border. They used to buy drug and disposed it off in small quantities to gain to earn high profits. They have procured the illegal weapon for their safety. Rajan is arrested by the Punjab Police last day. He will be brought on production warrant very soon. Efforts are on to trace Jagga. Both accused were produced before the hon’ble court and their 4 days police remand was sought.
