CHANDIGARH POLICE ISSUED ADVISORY ON FARMER AGITATION: SOME RESTRICTIONS ON FREE FLOW TO TRAFFIC FROM 12 TO 13 FEB.

In view of the call of farmers march/agitation by certain organizations on 13th February 2024 in the districts of Hayana, Punjab and Delhi border, general public is informed that there may be disruption in free movement of traffic on the borders of Chandigarh. There will be some restrictions on free flow of traffic on 12.02.2024 and 13.02.2024 at borders of Chandigarh.

Neighboring states have also issued traffic advisories, and general public may refer to the same for travel plans. The road users are advised to follow the route/diversion plan issued, if any, for their own convenience.(SUBHEAD)

Additionally, adequate Law & Order arrangements have also been put in place. As per the orders of DM, UT, Chandigarh section 144 Cr.P.C. has been imposed in the city for period of 60 days. A ban is imposed on gathering/assembly of 5 or more people, taking out processions, demonstrations, march pasts on foot or with tractor trolleys and other vehicles, and carrying any sticks, rods or weapons for aforesaid purpose. In this view, no vehicles especially tractor and trolleys will be allowed to move out within the territory of UT, Chandigarh.

In view of the above guidelines, general public is also advised to strictly follow the government norms as issued from time to time, take all necessary precautionary measures and cooperate with Chandigarh Police in order to maintain peace and order. In case of any violation, the offenders shall be prosecuted with strict penal action under the relevant provisions of law.
