BBMB BESTOWED WITH “BEST HYDRO POWER DEVELOPER” AWARD

Bhakra Beas Management Board has been honored with the “Best Hydro Power Developer” award for the year 2023-24. The accolade was presented at the IPPAI Power Awards ceremony, held on February 10, 2024, recognizing BBMB's outstanding contribution to green power generation and its pivotal role in advancing the nation's journey towards a sustainable future.

The prestigious award was presented by Sh. Bhupinder Bhalla, Secretary, MNRE, GOI, and Sh. Ghanshyam Prasad, Chairman, CEA, at Belgaum, Karnataka in the presence of eminent dignitaries from the power sector.

(SUBHEAD)Sh. Manoj Tripathi, Chairman, BBMB, expressed his felicitations to all employees of BBMB for their relentless dedication, which played a pivotal role in securing this esteemed recognition. He stated, “It's an honor to receive this prestigious award, and we are proud to be acknowledged for our endeavors in the power sector.”

Additionally, he reaffirmed BBMB's commitment to serving the nation by actively contributing towards national renewable energy goals, emphasizing their dedication to achieving Net Zero emissions. 

In alignment with this commitment, BBMB is undertaking significant initiatives, including the installation of 44.5 MW Floating/Ground-mounted Solar Power plants and award of the EPC contract for construction of 42 MW HEP at Baggi, Himachal Pardesh.

Furthermore, BBMB is progressing towards installation of about 13,000 MW Pumped Storage Plants in the vicinity of its existing reservoirs at Bhakra & Pong Dams.

With this recognition, BBMB adds yet another feather to its cap and remains steadfast in its commitment to excellence and sustainability in the power sector.
