DEPARTMENT OF CULTURAL AFFAIRS AND TAGORE THEATRE SOCIETY PRESENT THE 11TH INTERNATIONAL PUPPET FESTIVAL

The Department of Cultural Affairs, in collaboration with the Tagore Theatre Society, is thrilled to announce the 11th edition of the International Puppet Festival, scheduled to take place from 17th February to 21st February, 2024, at the prestigious Tagore Theatre.

The Festival will be inaugurated by the Hon’ble Administrator of UT, Chandigarh, on February 17th, 2024, at 10:45 am, marking the commencement of five days filled with mesmerizing puppetry performances from artists hailing from Russia, France, Brazil, USA, and Sri Lanka.

For the convenience of school students, the Department will host two daily shows during the festival – a morning show starting at 10:30 am, specifically tailored for school children, and an evening show starting at 6:30 pm, open to the general public.

In addition to the captivating performances, a Puppet Exhibition will run from February 17th to February 21st at Tagore Theatre, offering both school children and the general public an opportunity to immerse themselves in the enchanting world of puppetry. The exhibition will feature live demonstrations of puppet making, providing insight into the intricate craft behind these captivating creations.

This festival promises to be an enriching experience for all attendees, offering a blend of cultural heritage, artistic expression, and educational opportunities.
