A team of officials of Police Station, Sector-03, Chandigarh headed by SI Parmod Kumar along with police party achieved a major achievement by arresting one person namely Sanjay Kumar S/o Nanke R/o Jhuggi Near Tubewell No. 10, Kaimbwala, Chandigarh, age-30 years, who involved in drug peddling.
On 20.02.2024, Police party was on patrolling duty in the area of PPLake, Chandigarh with regard to prevention and control of crime.
When they reached near Rock Garden, They saw a person coming from Gurudwara road, on seeing police party he swiftly turned back.
On the basis of suspicion he was apprehended with the help of police party. On search, 10.08 grams heroine recovered from his possession, who failed to produced any licence/permit for the same. On verification he disclosed his name Sanjay Kumar S/o Nanku R/o Jhuggi Near Tube well No. 10, Kaimbwala Chandigarh, Age 30 Year, he has been arrested.(SUBHEAD)
Consequently, a case FIR No. 12 dated 21.02.2024 U/S 21 NDPS Act, PS-3, Chandigarh was registered against drug peddler Sanjay Kumar S/o Nanke R/o Jhuggi Near Tubewell No. 10, Kaimbwala, Chandigarh, age-30 years.
During interrogation accused disclosed that he use to bring the contraband from a person resident of Ferozpur, Punjab and he is habitual of consuming contraband and to fulfill his needs he use to sell the same at a rate of Rs 4000/- per gram in Village Kaimbwala, Chandigarh.
As per record, he was also arrested in the following cases i.e. Case FIR No. 39 dated 18.05.2023 U/s 379 IPC, Case FIR No. 32 dated 28.02.2015 U/s 61-1-14 Excise Act
On 21.02.2024, accused Sanjay Kumar S/o Nanke produced before the Hon’ble District Court and his two days police remand was obtained. The investigation of this case is being under process to know about the source/origin of recovered contraband.
