Keeping in view the present scenario and firing incidents occurred in the city and on the directions of Ms.KanwardeepKaur, IPS, SSP/UT under the close supervision of Sh. S.P.S. Sondhi, DSP/DCC and Insp. Jasminder Singh, I/C DCC team of District Crime Cell succeeded in arresting one accused with possession of illegal weapon and cartridges. –
CASE FIR No. 32DATED 08.03.2024 U/S25/54/59 Arms Act, PS-11, CHANDIGARH.
On 08.03.2024, ASI Balbir Singh alongwith officials of District Crime Cell,were on patrolling for prevention and detection of Crime. During patrolling, when they reached near Saini Bhawan, Sector-24 &secret informer informed that one suspected person namely Varinder Singh, who is having illegal weapon and cartridges, was present near park back side Balmiki Mandir, Sector-24.
On this information, ASI Balbir alongwith police officials raided and apprehended the suspected persons namely 1). Varinder Singh @ Joom s/o late Dharampal Singh r/o # 118, DMC, Chandigarh, Age 27 years and recovered one Country made pistol and two live cartridge from his possession.
In this regard case FIR No.32 dated 08.03.2024, u/s 25/54/59 Arms Act, PS-11, Chandigarh has been registered. The further investigation of the case is in progress
KNOW THE ACCUSED: Varinder Singh @ Joom S/o – Late Dharampal Singh R/o 118, DMC, Chandigarh, Age :- 27 Years, qualification :- 8th. occupation :- Trainer in Gym, Dhanas
