SPECIAL CAMPAIGN LAUNCHED AGAINST ILLICIT LIQUOR IN 22 DISTRICTS : ANIL VIJ

 DURING THE SPECIAL CAMPAIGN, 45 FIRS WERE FILED AGAINST INDIVIDUALS INVOLVED IN ILLICIT COUNTRY LIQUOR, LAHAN, AND ILLICIT COUNTRY (DESI) AND ENGLISH LIQUOR , DURING THE CAMPAIGN, 4 VEHICLES WERE SEIZED AND 44 INDIVIDUALS WERE SUCCESSFULLY ARRESTED, 345 LITERS OF LAHAN, 41.8 LITERS OF RAW LIQUOR, 1021.75 BOTTLES OF COUNTRY LIQUOR, 490.5 BOTTLES OF ENGLISH LIQUOR, AND 504 BOTTLES OF BEER WERE SEIZED – VIJ

Haryana Home Minister Sh. Anil Vij said that on March 9, 2024, the Haryana State Enforcement Bureau (H.S.E.B.) conducted a special campaign to crackdown on illegal activities such as illicit liquor and raw liquor in 22 districts of the state.

A total of 45 FIRs were filed during this special campaign and 44 individuals were successfully arrested by seizing 4 vehicles. During this campaign, 345 liters of Lahan, 41.8 liters of raw liquor, 1021.75 bottles of country (Desi) liquor, 490.5 bottles of English liquor, and 504 bottles of beer were seized.

He informed that raids were conducted in 22 districts including Ambala, Kurukshetra, Panchkula, Yamunanagar, Faridabad, Palwal, Nuh, Gurugram, Mahendragarh, Rewari, Fatehabad, Jind, Hisar, Sirsa, Karnal, Panipat, Kaithal, Jhajjar, Charkhi Dadri, Rohtak, Sonipat, and Bhiwani. This special campaign of raids was conducted peacefully and without any tension.

Sh. Vij mentioned that during this campaign, a total of 7 FIRs were filed for Lahan and raw liquor. Under this, one FIR was filed in Palwal for 35 liters of Lahan, one in Jind for 4.5 liters of raw liquor, one in Hisar for 22.5 liters of raw liquor, two FIRs in Karnal for 310 liters of Lahan, and two FIRs in Kaithal for 14.8 liters of raw liquor were successfully seized.(SUBHEAD)

The Home Minister said that in the case of illicit liquor, two FIRs were filed in Ambala for 52 bottles of country (Desi) liquor, resulting in the arrest of two accused. One FIR was filed in Kurukshetra for 10 bottles of country (Desi) liquor, leading to the arrest of one accused. In Panchkula, one FIR was filed for 9 bottles of country (Desi) liquor, resulting in the arrest of one accused.

In Yamunanagar, one FIR was filed for 19 bottles of country (Desi) liquor, resulting in the arrest of one accused. In Faridabad, five FIRs were filed for 37 bottles of English liquor and 51.75 bottles of country (Desi) liquor, resulting in the arrest of five accused. One FIR was filed in Palwal for 22 bottles of country (Desi) liquor, resulting in the arrest of one accused. In Nuh, four FIRs were filed for 14 bottles of country (Desi) liquor, 120.25 bottles of English liquor, and 12 bottles of beer, resulting in the arrest of four accused.

Similarly, in Gurugram, two FIRs were filed for 60 bottles of English liquor and 31.25 bottles of country (Desi) liquor, resulting in the arrest of two accused. In Mahendragarh, two FIRs were filed for 13 bottles of English liquor and 22 bottles of country (Desi) liquor, resulting in the arrest of two accused. In Rewari, two FIRs were filed for 14 bottles of country (Desi) liquor, 36 bottles of English liquor, and 48 bottles of beer, resulting in the arrest of two accused.

One FIR was filed in Fatehabad for 15 bottles of country (Desi) liquor, resulting in the arrest of one accused. In Jind, three FIRs were filed for 57 bottles of country (Desi) liquor, resulting in the arrest of four accused. In Hisar, one FIR was filed for 15 bottles of country liquor, resulting in the arrest of two accused.

He said that in Sirsa, two FIRs were filed for 155 bottles of country (Desi) liquor and 24.5 bottles of English liquor, resulting in the arrest of two accused. In Karnal, one FIR was filed for 11 bottles of country (Desi) liquor, resulting in the arrest of three accused. In Panipat, one FIR was filed for 11 bottles of country (Desi) liquor, resulting in the arrest of one accused. In Kaithal, two FIRs were filed for 14.8 Liters of Lahan, resulting in the arrest of two accused.

In Jhajjar, one FIR was filed for 186 bottles of English liquor, 12 bottles of country (Desi) liquor, and 432 bottles of beer, resulting in the arrest of one accused. One FIR was filed in Charkhi Dadri for 56 bottles of country (Desi) liquor, resulting in the arrest of one accused. In Rohtak, two FIRs were filed for 54 bottles of country (Desi) liquor, resulting in the arrest of two accused. In Sonipat, two FIRs were filed for 120 bottles of English liquor, 230.5 bottles of country (Desi) liquor, and 12 bottles of beer, resulting in the arrest of two accused. In Bhiwani, two FIRs were filed for 54 bottles of country (Desi) liquor, resulting in the arrest of two accused.

Dr. A.S. Chawla, ADGP of Haryana State Enforcement Bureau, said that as per the instructions of the Home Minister, targeting such antisocial elements at multiple locations simultaneously will yield positive results, and the Bureau will continue to take action against offenders/criminals in accordance with the law in the future, including against those involved in illicit liquor, illegal mining, and electricity theft.
