37TH SJOBA ANNUAL MOTOR CAR RALLY KICKS-OFF RALLY TO CULMINATE ON MAR 31

The 37th Edition of St. John's Old Boys Association(SJOBA) Annual Motor Car Rally has kicked-off from St. John’s High School, Sec 26, Chandigarh. The rally will conclude on March 31, 2024 followed by the prize distribution at Chandigarh Club from 7:30pm onwards. This year the rally boasts of a total prize money of Rs. 6 lakhs.

(MOREPIC1) The rally was flagged off by Mac Sarin, Founding Member of SJOBA and a renowned lawyer of the city. Along with him senior office bearers of SJOBA like the SJOBA President Almasto Kapoor and Abhishek Misra, Secretary of SJOBA were also present. The Principal of St. John’s High School Br. Ryan Fernandes too was there. The Clerk of the Course, SPS Ghai, Deputy Clerks’ of the Course -Shivam Garg & Naginder Singh and Danish Singh Mangat, Competitor Relationship Officer of the SJOBA Rally were also present at the ceremonial flag off of the four and two wheelers.

(SUBHEAD)Almasto Kapoor said that 20 Extreme four wheelers – Jeeps in 4WD and cars in 2WD and 50 Extreme two wheelers, were flagged off from the start point –St John’s High School Chandigarh. “120 motorists will face 12 competition stages spread across three days. This year we are witnessing participation of 2 women motorcyclists,” informed Kapoor.

The rally that started from Chandigarh will pass through a variety of terrain which includes both plain and also a little hilly will return to Chandigarh on Mar 31.

The rally will face a challenging route that passes through Ropar, Ludhiana, Nawanshahr, and Hoshiarpur.

The Clerk of the Course, SPS Ghai said, “The route is made up of a variety of tracks which include non-concrete roads, river beds, tarmac roads, and hilly landscapes.”

It is to be noted that the SJOBA Annual Motor Car Rally has become a hallmark event in the motorsport calendar of the country. All rules, regulations and safety protocols of Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India ( FMSCI) , which is the nodal organisation of motor sport events are incorporated by the SJOBA Rally.

Supporting partners of the 37th Edition of SJOBA Motor Car Rally are Punjab Tourism, Fortis, Apollo Tyres, Paul Merchants among others.
