Keeping in view the forthcoming Lok Sabha Election in the Nation and for prevention and detection of Crime in the city, on the directions of Ms. Kanwardeep Kaur, IPS, SSP/UT under the supervision of Sh. Dilsher Singh Chandel, DSP/DCC and Insp. Jasminder Singh, I/C DCC, team of District Crime Cell succeeded in arresting three accused under NDPS Act in two different cases.
CASE FIR No. 68 DATED 24.05.2024 U/S 20 & 29 NDPS Act PS-11, CHANDIGARH
On 24.05.2024, SI Ram DiyaL along with police officials of District Crime Cell-24 were on patrolling duty for prevention and detection of crime in U.T. area. During patrolling when they reached near rickshaw Stand, Sector-24/C, two persons talking with each other was seen coming towards patrolling party, who were carry heavy bags in their hands. On seeing police officials, they seem nervous, turned back and walking fast. On suspicion SI Ram Diyal with the help of officials apprehended both the suspected persons.
During their search 968 grams charas was recovered from accused Rajdeep Singh s/o Baldev Singh, R/o # A-1203, Affinity Green, Airport Road near Dhillon plaza, Zirakpur, Distt. Mohali Pb. Age 37 years and 952 grams Charas was recovered from accused Gagandeep Singh @ Mani s/o Baldev Singh, R/o # A-1203, Affinity Green, Airport Road near Dhillon plaza, Zirakpur, Distt. Mohali Pb. Age 31 years. Total 1 KG 920 grams Charas were recovered from them.
(SUBHEAD)Accused Rajdeep Singh and Gagandeep Singh @ Mani were arrested and case FIR No. 68 dated 24.05.2024 U/S 20 & 29 NDPS Act PS-11, Chandigarh was registered against them. Further investigation of the case is in progress.

Recovery: Charas 952 Grams
CASE FIR No. 80 DATED 24.05.2024 U/S 18 & 20 NDPS Act PS-39,CHANDIGARH: Police said, on 24.05.2024, ASI Rajesh Kumar along with police officials of District Crime Cell-24 were on patrolling duty for prevention and detection of crime in U.T. area. During patrolling they laid a Naka near Sector-40 C/D, T-point and started the checking vehicles and suspected persons.
After sometime one white colour fortuner car (driven by turban-man) was seen coming towards Naka side. ASI Rajesh Kumar gave signal to stop the car for checking but driver of said car was tried to reverse but suddenly the car was stopped and driver tried to flee from spot. On suspicion ASI Rajesh alongwith police officials present on naka by showing theirefficiency apprehend the driver. During checking 731 grams Charas and 958 grams Opium were recovered from his possession. On asking driver disclosed his name as Gurjeet Singh @ Gajji s/o Gurbaksh Singh, r/o Village Bajrur, PS-Noorpur Bedi, distt Ropar, Pb, Age 37 years. Accused Gurjeet Singh @ Gajji was arrested and case FIR No. 80 dated 24.05.2024 U/S 18 & 20 NDPS Act PS-39, Chandigarh was registered against him.
