CHANDIGARH ADMINISTRATION TAKES STRICT ACTION AGAINST CORRUPTION

The Chandigarh Administration has suspended  Nishant Thakur, Peon, from the office of the Executive Engineer, Electrical Division No. 1, U.T. Chandigarh, following allegations of demanding illegal gratification.

An internal inquiry has confirmed that Sh. Nishant Thakur demanded Rs. 1,25,000/- from Ms. Jyoti Sharma with the promise of securing her a job as a Computer Operator under the Electrical Division No. 1, U.T. Chandigarh. This unethical behaviour is a direct violation of the ethical standards and integrity expected of public service employees.

In response to these serious allegations, Sh. Nishant Thakur has been immediately suspended from his duties. A thorough departmental inquiry has been ordered to investigate the matter in detail. Based on the findings of the investigation, appropriate legal action will be taken in accordance with the law to ensure justice and maintain the integrity of the office.

The Engineering Department of the Chandigarh Administration upholds a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption and misconduct.
