To prepare for the examinations during the summer vacation, the local branch of All India Arora Khatri Punjabi Community presented books and other teaching materials worth Rs. 3 lakhs to the needy and meritorious students at a function held at Arorvansh Dharamshala last evening.
Heart and Chest specialist Dr. Naveen Sethi was the Chief Guest. Dr Vijay Grover, principal, DAV College of Education was the key speaker, the function was presided over by Mayor Vimal Thatai. Apart from them, special guests Vipan Nagpal, president of Chanan Mal Ahuja Trust Arorvansh Dharamshala, councillor Mangat Rai Bathla, Chemists Association president Arjun Demla and Innerwheel Club president Inayat Vij lighted the 'Jyoti' before the portrait of Arut Ji Maharaj, the founder of the Arora community.
Organiser Naresh Khurana and chief advisor Bhisham Thakkar welcomed the guests. Kulbhushan Hiteshi introduced dignitaries. Principal Dr Vijay Grover said that this effort of the NGO will prove to be helpful in changing the lives of these children. Mayor Vimal Thatai said that Vidyadaan is called Mahadaan. The NGO has taken an invaluable step in the direction of guiding the students on the path of education by giving them a wonderful gift today.
