DEMOLITION OF FURNITURE MARKET POSTPONED, UT ADMINITRATION TO EXAMINED OCCUPANTS REPLIES ON NOTICES

Demolition for furniture market situated on government land at Sector 53-54 was planned for any appropriate day after 28th June and notices were issued to furniture market occupants to get the site cleared by 28th June.

Land Acquisition Officer (LAO) confirmed that he has received replies from many occupants of Furniture Market and they are being examined on merits. Decision for schedule of demolition will be taken after examination of replies as per rules at appropriate level.

Deputy Commissioner, Sh. Vinay Pratap Singh informed that since replies have come and they need to be examined, hence, demolition would be scheduled immediately after decision on the replies is taken by the competent authority. He again reiterated that the Furniture Market has been running illegally on government land and UT Administration is duty bound to get the illegal encroachments removed from its lands.
