National Independent Schools Alliance federation (NISA) on Thursday submitted a 20-point demand letter to the Chief Minister. Under the leadership of Mr. Kulbhushan Sharma, National President of NISA and State President of Federation of Private School Association, a 20-point demand letter was submitted to the Haryana Chief Minister. The federation highlighted that the private schools of Haryana have been going through a difficult phase for over a decade besides waiting for the past 10 years for the BJP to fulfil the promises made in its manifesto.
The representatives apprised the Chief Minister and Education Minister of the pending billions of rupees of 134-A to private schools, as per the law. They further added that partial money was made before the parliamentary elections but that too was not paid to the private schools, due to which the financial condition of the private schools has deteriorated. They demanded immediate payment of the amount within 30 days.
Demanding that the entire pending amount be paid to the private schools, Mr. Kulbhushan Sharma said that private schools are imparting education to children from class 9th to 12th under 134-A under the Chirag Yojana launched by the government, adding that if Rs.1100 has been fixed for class 12th, then children studying under 134-A should be paid at least Rs.1100 per month.
(SUBHEAD)Mr. Kulbhushan Sharma also highlighted 19 other demands such as reviewing the schools recognized for more than 10 years by issuing a simple affidavit. He stated that on the lines of Rajasthan, the government should immediately waive off the passenger tax of Rs. 20 per seat imposed on school buses and extend the running life of buses by 2 years which have not been plying on the routs and parked during two years of the Corona pandemic.
Recognised schools should not be forced to get recognition for Nursery and L.K.G. All recoganised schools, temporarily recognised schools and playway schools of Haryana must be given recognition. In addition, all the other demands submitted through memorandum to the Chief Minister, should be relieved by issuing orders within 30 days.
The president stated that if the government fails to fulfill the demands of private schools within 30 days, then private schools will organise a Maha Panchayat in Ambala on August 11 to register their protest and take a decision. He further added that it will purely be the responsibility of the ruling government. Mr. Sharma stated that the federation is hopeful that the Education Minister and the Chief Minister will take immediate decision on their demands and provide relief to the private schools of the state which are suffering from problems since last 10 years.
