46 BOTTLES OF ILLEGAL LIQUOR, TWO CARS AND ONE ACTIVA RECOVERED

Keeping in view thepresent scenario and criminal activity incidents occurred in the cityand special drive against illegal liquor supplier, team of District crime cellunder the close supervision of Sh. Rajneesh, DSP/DCC and Inspector Jasminder Singh, I/C DCC, teams of District Crime Cell succeeded in arresting three persons in Excise Act and cheating.
BRIEF FACTS:-
Case FIR No. 57 Dt. 11.07.2024 U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act and 318(2), 61(2) added 336(3) BNS PS-19, U.T, Chandigarh.
On 11.07.2024,ASI Rajesh along with officials of District Crime Cell-24was on patrolling duty in UT area for prevention and detection of crime. During patrolling they reached Sector 20 C Chd market and met secret informer, who informed about the persons who are selling illegal liquor in Chandigarh.On this secret information ASI Rajesh alongwith police officials laid a nakanear sector 20 C/D dividing road and apprehend a person Raja Seth S/o Lt Ajay Kumar R/o # 896, sector 47 A Chd Age 29 Years while he was carrying 18 bottles of illegal liquor markaChivas regal 18 Yrs blended scotch whisky in his car. Excise official was called on spot to verify and videography of the seizure of said illicit liquorwas conducted as per the new implemented laws U/s 105 BNSS.Case FIR No. 57 Dt. 11.07.2024 U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act and 318(2), 61(2) added 336(3) BNS PS-19, U.T, Chd was registered against accused Raja Seth and he was arrested on the spot. Recovered illegal liquor and his car taken into police possession through seizure memo.
On the instant of accused Raja Seth his associates namely Ravi S/o Azad Singh R/o #629, near bora waligali, DariyaChd Age 31 Years alongwith 14 illegal liquor markaChivas regal 18 Yrs blended scotch whiskyand Gurusagar S/o Maninder Raj Singh R/o # 2490, Sector-38 C Chd Age 24 Yearsalongwith 14 illegal liquor markaChivas regal 18 Yrs blended scotch whisky wereapprehended.Excise official verify the spot and videography of the seizure of said illicit liquor was conducted. Both the accused Ravi and Gurusagar were arrested and illegal liquoralongwith their vehicles i.e one car and Activa, which they used to transport the illegal liquor were taken into police possession through seizure memo.
As per the investigation it has been revealed that they have sold different brands of liquor by mixing cheap brands in the empty bottles of premium brands i.eChivas Regal 18 Yrs, Glenddifch 12 Yrs, 18 Yrs, 21 Yrs, Gold Label, Glenlivet 12 Yrs, 18 Yrs, 21 Yrs, Royal Salute 21 Yrs, Blue label 21 Yrs,Glenmorangie etc.,and have further sold them in different areas of tri-city. All the three accused were presented before the Hon’ble court and 02 days police remand was obtained. Further investigation of the case is in progress.
