The first OTT of Himachal is launched by the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Sh Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu at Shimla today. Chief Minister said that Himachal Pradesh's first Over-The-Top (OTT) platform, marks a significant milestone.
This groundbreaking initiative promises to elevate the cinematic landscape of the region, offering a vibrant blend of world cinema, Indian cinema, and, most importantly, Himachali cinema. By providing filmmakers a global stage to showcase their talent, Himalayan Velocity is set to redefine the way we experience and appreciate the art of filmmaking.
HV Cinema will showcase Feature films, Short Films, documentaries and animations on its OTT platfom. There is a dedicated section for Himachali Cinema on this OTT.
The Managing Director of Himalayan Velocity Sh Pushp Raj Thakur said that Himachal Pradesh, with its breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural heritage, has always been a fertile ground for storytelling. However, the region's cinematic expressions have often been overshadowed by mainstream Bollywood and other regional cinemas.
Himalayan Velocity aims to change this narrative by giving Himachali filmmakers a dedicated platform to share their stories with the world. This initiative is not just about entertainment; it’s about preserving and promoting the unique cultural identity of Himachal Pradesh. The platform will feature a diverse array of Himachali films, ranging from traditional folk tales to contemporary narratives that reflect the evolving society of the region. By doing so, it will provide a window into the lives, traditions, and dreams of the people of Himachal Pradesh, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of their way of life.

Further Himalayan Velocity is organizing International Film Festival of Shimla and successfully organized nine editions. The 10th edition of International Film Festival will be celebrated in Gaiety Theatre Shimla from 16to 18 August 2024
