MESCALINE IS KNOWN AS PARTY DRUG AND HAVING HALLUCINOGENIC AFFECTS SAME AS LSD AND PSILOCYBIN (MAGIC MUSHROOM).

In a significant breakthrough, dedicated team of Special Cell, Trans Yamuna Range, Delhi Police, led by Inspectors Rahul Kumar and Vineet Kumar Tewatia, under the close supervision of ACP Sh. Kailash Singh Bisht has busted an international drug syndicate involved in smuggling and supplying of Psychotropic substance Mescaline, known for its use as a party drug in Delhi from abroad after arresting one foreigner drug trafficker of this syndicate namely Faith Racheal D/o Ike Racheal R/o Aba, Lagos, Nigeria on 14.08.2024 from the area of Mehrauli, Delhi.
The close coordination between Special Cell and Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has been instrumental in the success of this operation. This achievement stands as a testament to the dedication and professionalism of law enforcement personnel in safeguarding our society from the threats posed by organized drug syndicates. The arrest was made following months of diligent investigation and surveillance.
RECOVERY: From the possession of accused person total 3.8 kg fine quality Psychotropic substance Mescaline having worth Rs. 15 Crores in International market have been recovered. The seized psychotropic substance Mescaline, a potent party drug known for its hallucinogenic properties, is believed to have originated from clandestine laboratories operated by the drug cartel outside India.
Mescaline is a naturally occurring psychedelic that comes from the Mexican Peyote cactus and the San Pedro cactus found in Peru and Ecuador. Mescaline can be in powder, tablet, capsule or liquid form.
Information and Operation:
In view of use of drugs amongst youth in Delhi and adjoining states, Special Cell, Delhi Police is working continuously to thwart the nefarious designs of such anti-social drug suppliers. Accordingly, information about suppliers of narcotic substances and their associates active in Delhi/NCR are being collected through various sources.
In the first week of April 2024, it transpired that an International Drug syndicate is indulged in supplying of narcotics substance in Delhi & NCR. Team deployed surveillance on the suspected members of the drug cartel. It took about 4 months of painstaking efforts to identify the key players of International Drug cartel. Their activities were kept under discreet surveillance round the clock. Team officials work in odd hours and highly sensitive areas. During surveillance it came into notice that members of this cartel smuggled and distribute narcotics substance.

On August 14, 2024, the team hard work’s paid off, when acting on specific information a raid was conducted at Mehrauli, Delhi and Ms. Faith Racheal above was apprehended along with a trolley bag. On cursory search of the trolley bag 3.8 Kgs. of fine quality Psychotropic substance Mescaline was recovered, which was concealed in the packing of branded toffee and fish foods.
MODUS OPERANDI AND GIST OF INTERROGATION: Smuggle drugs were disguised as toffees and fish food. The discovery highlights the lengths to which criminal elements will go to evade detection and perpetrate their illicit activities. The modus operandi of disguising drugs within everyday consumer items such as toffees and fish food represents a dangerous trend aimed at circumventing security measures and exploiting unsuspecting individuals. This brazen attempt to smuggle drugs under the guise of legitimate products underscores the need for heightened vigilance and stringent enforcement measures.

PROFILE OF THE ACCUSED PERSON: Ms. Faith Racheal was born at Lagos, Nigeria. Her parents died in her early childhood. She visited India in August 2022 on a Medical VISA. After the expiry of VISA, she did not return to Nigeria. She came in contact with a Nigerian national and started smuggling of Narcotics substance. In January 2024, the said Nigerian national returned to Nigeria. Thereafter, she became the part of the Narcotics Drug cartel and used to deliver consignment of Narcotics substance from one conduit to another with the help of the above said person based in Nigeria.
Further investigation is underway to identify additional members of the drug cartel and uncover any remaining illicit operations.
