DOUBLE WIN FOR BENGAL IN WOMEN'S T20 SERIES, LEISURE ZONE DOMINATES PEACE ZONE IN ONE WICKET THRILLING WIN

Bengal registered two wins in a day at the ongoing Three state association’s Women's T20 Series being played at DAV School, Sector 8 on Thursday. In the first match, Bengal defeated the host Chandigarh by 58 runs in a one-sided affair. Batting first, the visitors scored 113/7 runs in the stipulated twenty overs wherein Tanushree Sarkar (41) was the top scorer and Dhara Gujjar added 21. Rajni Devi took three wickets from the opposition. In reply, the UT girls team collapsed early at 55 runs. Aaradhana Bisht scored the highest 24 runs.

Tithi Das and Pratiba Rana shared two wickets each. Bengal's dominance continued in the second match of the day and defeated Baroda by seven wickets. Baroda while batting first was bundled out for 76 runs. Opener Gautami Naik scored 24 runs. Bengal surpassed the given target by the help of Dhara Gujjar (33) and Mita Pal (30) at the loss of three wickets in the 14th over

Meanwhile, at UTCA Men's Under 23 One Day Tournament being played at Baba Balak Nath Cricket Academy, Kambala, Leisure Zone registered a thrilling one wicket win over Peace Zone. Losing side opted to bat first and scored 236/8 runs in the stipulated fifty overs as Gurneet Singh (94) missed the century. Skipper Arnab Bansal scored 40 while Khushal Singh added 35. Ivraj Ranauta from the opposition side took three wickets. In reply, Leisure Zone was once struggling at 110/5 but recovered by a century from Surya Narayan's (112). Leisure Zone dominated in the last moments of the match steered to victory at the loss of nine wickets in the 48th over. Pratham Sodhi (36) and Sarthak Sarahan (34) aptly supported the skipper. Aryan Duggal and Rubal took four wickets each.
