WESTERN COMMAND CELEBRATES 58th AWWA DAY

The Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) remains at forefront to address and alleviate concerns and challenges faced by the families and next of kin of the soldiers. To mark the initiative of this welfare organisation, the Indian Army celebrates 23rd August as AWWA day every year.

This year, the 58th AWWA Day was celebrated at Chandimandir Military Station with traditional gaiety and fervour. AWWA, Western Command organized a number of events, which included a medical & health check up camp for families and elders to screen them for metabolic diseases, Diabetes, Anemia, Breast Cancer and Bone Mineral Density.

(SUBHEAD)AWWA Entrepreneur Exhibition showcased a range of products made by budding women entrepreneur of military families. On the sidelines of the Exhibition, a workshop on sales, marketing and advertising of homemade products through social media and technology was also organised.

Mrs Shuchi Katiyar, Regional President, AWWA Western Command presided over the commemorative event. While extending her warm greetings and felicitation to all members and families of the AWWA fraternity, she asked them to break the traditional barriers and make a niche for themselves in the modern progressive India which provides equal opportunities to ladies and homemakers.

She paid her heartfelt tribute to fallen heroes & felicitated 10 Veer Naris on the occasion. In addition she interacted and encouraged the winners of AWWA Awards of Excellence.
