GAGANPREET’S FIFER WENT IN VAIN AS SUKHNA ZONE REGISTER ONE WICKET WIN OVER PLAZA ZONE

Sukhna Zone registered one wicket win over Plaza Zone in the opening encounter of the Under -19 ODI kicks off at Launching Pad Cricket Academy on Tuesday.

Plaza Zone won the toss and decided to bat first wherein team was bundle out for 85 runs in the 18th over. Arjun scored 14 while Shatrughan added 11 . The Shrestha Duggal took the maximum four wickets from the opposition.

In reply, Sukhna Zone managed to score 86 at the loss of nine wickets in a struggling end as five wicket haul from opposition pace attack from Gaganpreet went in vain. Sarthak scored 31 runs from Sukhna Zone. In another match, the Leisure Zone won by thirty runs against Peace Zone by virtue of the VJD method. While batting first, the Leisure zone scored 160/10 runs in stipulated 40 overs wherein Vivek scored 55 runs. Meet Dhaiya added 37 runs.

Yuvraj took three wickets from the opposition side. In reply, the Peace Zone, while chasing the target, was struggling at 101/7 in the 33rd over when rain intervened. Later Leisure zone was declared victorious by thirty runs.

Meanwhile, Sukhna Zone won by four wickets against Terrace Zone in the Under 23 ODI match being played at Baba Balak Nath Cricket Academy. Terrace scored 280/6 runs in the fifty overs. Karthik Vardhan (88) and Harmanpreet Singh (69) were the vital contributors. In reply, Sukhna surpassed the target in the 44th over at the loss of six wickets. Dushyant Thamman scored 95 while skipper Paras Kumar contributed 67 runs.

In the Senior Women T20 match being played at Sector 36 GNP School, Team A won the match by 52 runs against Team B. Batting first team A scored 107/6 runs in the stipulated twenty overs. Sarah Mahajan added 37 while Suman Rajput scored 29 runs. Eknur Kaur took three wickets. In reply, Team B was bundled out for 55 runs as Bhawna Rathore scored the highest 27 runs. No player of the team touched even a double figure.
