A joint team of Special Cell/NDR and STF/Meerut arrested two sharp henchmen of Hashim Baba gang* namely Anas and Asad after a shootout in the area of Khatauli, Muzaffarnagar, UP, in which both accused persons sustained bullet injuries. Three pistols with 9 live cartridges have been recovered from their possession. Accused Anas was wanted in 4 criminal cases of Delhi, 2 cases of murder and 2 cases of attempt to murder.
On 18.09.2024, an information was received that one wanted accused Anas, a desperate sharp-shooter of Hashim Baba gang is roaming around Ghaziabad and Delhi alongwith his other associate Asad. Consequently, a team comprising of staff of Special Cell and STF/Meerut, UP was formed and search of these persons was made. The team followed these persons on Delhi-Haridwar Highway and around 4 AM two persons driving Kia Seltos Car bearing No. DL11C-0458 were intercepted near Bhainsi village in the jurisdiction of PS Khatuali, UP with the assistance of local police of PS Khatauli and accompanied STF/Meerut staff. The occupants of the car opened fire on the police team to escape. In retaliatory firing both the persons sustained bullet injuries in their legs.
Total eight rounds were fired, 4 rounds by accused persons and 4 rounds by police team. The injured were taken to nearby Govt. hospital.
The identity of the accused persons were revealed as Anas Khan (age 18 years) s/o Afsar Khan r/o C-216, 3rd Floor, Gali No. 8, Chauhan Bangar, Delhi and Asad Ameen (age 21 years) s/o Babuddin r/o C-23/11, Gali No. 4, Chauhan Bangar, Brahmpuri, Delhi.
In regard to the incident, a case vide FIR No. 375/24 dated 19.09.2024 u/s 221/132/109/3(5)(B) BNS has been registered in PS Khatauli, UP. The recovered Kia Seltos car is found to be stolen vide e-FIR No. 027183, dated 08.04.24, PS Patel Nagar, Delhi.
RECOVERY : One sophisticated pistol of .30 with 3 live cartridges from accused Anas., One sophisticated pistol of .32 with 3 live cartridges from accused Asad., . One single shot pistol of .32 was also recovered from accused Asad.. Three live cartridges of .32 has also been recovered from the seized car., One Kia Seltos car bearing No. DL11C-0458.

FIR No. 496/24 u/s 307/34 IPC & 25/27 Arms Act, PS Karol Bagh, Delhi.
