MOHALI SSP ASSURED RE-INVESTIGATION OF CASE FILED AGAINST SOCIAL ACTIVIST AND POLITICAL COMMENTATOR MALWINDER SINGH MALI

SSP Deepak Pareek has assured a re-investigation of the case registered against social activist and political commentator Malvinder Singh Mali in the IT City police station here.

Malwinder Singh Mali's close associate and senior journalist Gurdarshan Singh Bahia, while giving information in this regard, said that he had met Mohali SSP Deepak Pareek late evening yesterday and demanded that an independent and impartial reinvestigation of fabricated, baseless and outright false case registered against Mali should be conducted.

Mr. Bahia sated that they also demanded to cancel the false case against Malwinder Singh Mali, release him immediately and to take legal action against the person who made a false, baseless and fabricated complaint against him. He informed that Malvinder Singh Mali's brother Ranjit Singh and Baldev Singh Bittu, the former sarpanch of village Skarodi, were also present in the delegation that met the SSP.

He said that in the application given to the SSP, it has also been demanded that a re-investigation of this matter should be conducted by an honest, impartial and competent police officer so that the conspiracy to file this false case, the persons involved and their intention can be revealed.

Mr. Bahia sated that they also demanded to cancel the false case against Malwinder Singh Mali, release him immediately and to take legal action against the person who made a false, baseless and fabricated complaint against him. He informed that Malvinder Singh Mali's brother Ranjit Singh and Baldev Singh Bittu, the former sarpanch of village Skarodi, were also present in the delegation that met the SSP.

It is worth mentioning here that a false case was registered in the IT City police station for inciting religious sentiments against Malwinder Singh Mali on 16th of September and he was sent to Patiala jail from where he will be brought to appear in a court at Mohali on October 1.

It is also mentioned that a protest is being held in front of Patiala Jail on September 29 by more than a dozen justice-loving and democratic organizations to press for his immediate release.
