Pushpa Gujral Science City celebrated Green Consumer Day with the aim to promote sustainable choices and foster eco-friendly living to reduce environmental footprint and contribute to a cleaner, greener planet.

Dr. Rajesh Grover, Director, Science City giving introductory remarks at the occasion said that Artificial Intelligence (AI) has the potential to play a transformative role in protecting our environment by providing smarter, more efficient solutions to various environmental challenges.

He highlighted the transformative impact of AI in promoting energy efficiency, monitoring and managing natural resources, climate change mitigation, smarter waste and wildlife management. Further, through intelligent decision-making, AI has the potential to support sustainable practices that lead to a greener and more resilient planet, he added.

As part of the celebration, a project model competition titled "Zero Waste Challenge" was organized. Approximately 200 students participated, showcasing innovative projects and models demonstrating zero-waste practices implemented in their schools. In this competition, the first prize was awarded to Sain Dass A.S. Senior Secondary School, Jalandhar. SPPS School, Begowal, secured the second prize, and SGPT School, Bhogpur, placed third."
