IAF ‘VAYU VEER VIJETA CAR RALLY’ FLAGGED OFF FROM CHANDIGARH TO DEHRADUN

The iconic “Vayu Veer Vijeta Car Rally” of the Indian Air Force (IAF) in coordination with the Uttrakhand War Memorial (UWM) was flagged off with grand fanfare by Group Captain AS Punia, Station Commander Air Force Station Chandigarh in the morning hours today. Before leaving, a wreath-laying ceremony was performed by the members of the rally team to pay homage to the fallen war heroes at War Memorial, Airforce Station, Chandigarh.

(MOREPIC1)(SUBHEAD)The Rally is fast speeding to arrive Dehradun today and will be welcomed by Uttarakhand Science and Technology Council in Jhajhra where a reception and a brief interaction with scientists on the role of Science and Technology in National defence led by its Director General Prof ( Dr) Durgesh Pant is planned.

On 15th October, the rally will pay homage to the Unknown Soldiers’ statue at Shaurya Sthal, Uttarakhand War Memorial.

“Vayu Veer Vijeta” UWM – IAF Car Rally, commemorating 25th Year of Kargil Vijay Di-vas, was flagged off from Thoise, Leh (to Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh) on 08 October, 2024, on the occasion of 92nd IAF Anniversary. The car rally comprises participants from the IAF, Army, Air Veterans & Civilians of UWM. The rally aims to inspire youth to join Indian armed forces and spread the great achievements of the Air Force among common people.

From Dehradun, it will route through Agra, Lucknow, Darbhanga, Bagdogra, Hashimara and Guwahati before reaching Tawang on 27th October. The Rally will visit War Memorials enroute.

The team members will also interact with youth in the Colleges/Universities during their halt. A special feature is that students from the Northeast, particularly from Arunachal Pradesh, where the rally is to finally reach, will accord a traditional welcome to the rally.
